Students in preparatory education for a skills examination number 77,100 in 2007

According to Statistics Finland, 77,100 students participated in preparatory education for a skills examination during calendar year 2007.

The number of students was around one per cent up on the previous year. Forty-one per cent of the students attended training for an initial vocational qualification, 49 per cent for a further vocational qualification and 10 per cent for a specialist vocational qualification. Fifty-seven per cent of the students were women.

New students numbered 37,600. Of the students, 19,100 completed an entire qualification. Of the completed qualifications, 37 per cent were initial vocational qualifications, 54 per cent further vocational qualifications and 9 per cent specialist vocational qualifications. Sixty-three per cent of the qualifiers were women.

These data have been collected from educational institutions. Apprenticeship training is not included in these data.
