Students in curriculum-based basic vocational education
numbered 127,300 in 2008
According to Statistics Finland, the number of students in curriculum-based vocational education provided by educational institutions was 127,300 in 2008.
New students numbered 48,600. The number of students was 1 per cent higher and that of new students 0.2 per cent lower than one year previously. Fifty-four per cent of students were men.
The majority of students were studying in the fields of technology and transport (43 per cent), welfare and health (15 per cent) and tourism, catering and home economics (12 per cent).
