Road traffic accidents claimed 21 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 347 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February. In them, 21 persons were killed and 462 persons injured. The number of persons killed was as in 2010 and that of persons injured 39 lower.

Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by passenger car, 1 by van and 2 by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 2. Among those who died, 16 were men and 5 were women.
A total of 736 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to February period. In them, 37 persons were killed and 956 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 6 higher and that of persons injured 54 higher than in the corresponding period of 2010. Of the person who were killed, 31 travelled by passenger car, 1 by van and 2 by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 2. In addition, 1 other road user was killed.
