Road traffic accidents claimed 14 lives in March
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 330 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in March. In them, 14 persons were killed and 456 persons injured. The number of persons killed was the same as in March 2010 and that of persons injured 71 higher.

Of the persons who were killed, 10 travelled by passenger car and 1 by van. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 3. Among those who died, 7 were men and 7 were women.
A total of 1072 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to March period. In them, 51 persons were killed and 1422 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 4 higher and that of persons injured 127 higher than in the corresponding period of 2010. Of the person who were killed, 41 travelled by passenger car, 2 by lorry and 2 by van. Pedestrians killed numbered 5. In addition 1 other road user was killed.
