Road traffic accidents claimed 19 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 524 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 19 persons were killed and 627 persons injured. The number of persons killed was the same as in November 2010 and that of persons injured 11 higher.

Of the persons who were killed, 13 travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 4 and cyclists 1. In addition, 1 other road user was killed. Among those who died, 13 were men and 6 were women.
A total of 5,876 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November period. In them, 256 persons were killed and 7,277 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 8 higher and that of persons injured 205 higher than in the corresponding period of 2010. Of the person who were killed, 153 travelled by passenger car, 5 by lorry, 8 by van, 1 by bus or coach, 28 by motorcycle and 9 by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered 31 and cyclists 15. In addition, 6 other road users were killed.
