Road traffic accidents claimed 12 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 471 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 12 persons were killed and 587 persons injured. The number of persons killed was seven lower and that of persons injured 40 lower than in November 2011.

Of the persons who were killed, six travelled by passenger car and one by moped. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered five. Among those who died, 11 were men and one was a woman.
A total of 5,300 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November period. In them, 239 persons were killed and 6,501 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 17 lower and that of persons injured 776 lower than in the corresponding period of 2011. Of the persons who were killed, 135 travelled by passenger car, 11 by van, 10 by lorry, 1 by bus or coach, 21 by motorcycle and 7 by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered 27 and cyclists 17. In addition, 10 other road users were killed.
