Road traffic accidents claimed 13 lives in April
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 370 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in April. In them, 13 persons were killed and 468 persons injured. The number of persons killed was six lower and that of persons injured 151 higher than in April 2013.

Of the persons who were killed, three travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by moped. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered two and cyclists six. Among those who died, nine were men and four were women.
A total of 1 356 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to April period. In them, 56 persons were killed and 1 707 persons injured. The number of persons killed was eight lower and that of persons injured 247 higher than in the corresponding period of 2013. Of the persons who were killed, 32 travelled by passenger car, three by van and two by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered nine and cyclists seven. In addition, three other road users were killed.
