Road traffic accidents claimed 16 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 388 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 16 persons were killed and 487 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 14 lower and that of persons injured 94 lower than in November 2013.

Of the persons who were killed, nine travelled by passenger car and one by van. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered four and cyclists one. In addition, one other road user was killed. Among those who died, 12 were men and four were women.
A total of 4,803 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November period. In them, 200 persons were killed and 6,026 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 39 lower and that of persons injured 83 lower than in the corresponding period of 2013. Of the persons who were killed, 110 travelled by passenger car, 10 by van, three by lorry, 16 by motorcycle and two by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered 27 and cyclists 23. In addition, nine other road users were killed.
