Road traffic accidents claimed 15 lives in April
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 300 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in April. In them, 15 persons were killed and 394 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 21 higher than in April 2015.

Of the persons who were killed, 12 travelled by passenger car and one by van and one by moped. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one. Among those who died, 13 were men and two were women.
A total of 1,116 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to April period. In them, 63 persons were killed and 1,441 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 13 lower and that of persons injured 100 lower than in the corresponding period of 2015. Of the persons who were killed, 52 travelled by passenger car, two by van, one by moped and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered six and cyclists one.
