Road traffic accidents claimed 9 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 134 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February. In them, 9 persons were killed and 160 persons injured. The number of persons killed was eight lower and that of persons injured 124 lower than in February 2020. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Of the persons who were killed, five travelled by passenger car, two by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one. Among those who died, seven were men and two were women.
A total of 348 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to February period. In them, 23 persons were killed and 417 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 11 lower and that of persons injured 252 lower than in the corresponding period of 2020. Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by passenger car, four by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered one and cyclists one.
