Road traffic accidents claimed 23 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 290 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 23 persons were killed and 343 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 11 higher and that of persons injured 24 lower than in November 2020. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Of the persons who were killed, 14 travelled by passenger car, one by moped and one by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered four and cyclists three. Among those who died, 15 were men and eight were women.
A total of 2,981 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to November period. In them, 204 persons were killed and 3,558 persons injured. The number of persons killed was eight higher and that of persons injured 510 lower than in the corresponding period of 2020. Of the persons who were killed, 114 travelled by passenger car, eight by van, four by moped, 28 by motorcycle and three by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 22 and cyclists 20. In addition, five other road users were killed.
