Industrial output grew by 6.3 per cent in August

According to Statistics Finland, output of total industries adjusted for working days was 6.3 per cent higher in August 2010 than twelve months earlier. In August, seasonally adjusted output went up by 2.7 per cent relative to the previous month.

Adjusted for working days, industrial output grew by 7.9 per cent from one year back in August. In the manufacture of basic metals, output went up by 34.8 per cent in August. Output in the manufacture of paper products grew by 10.0 per cent from twelve months back. Adjusted for working days, output of sawn timber was 9.8 per cent up year-on-year in August. The largest drop of good 28 per cent was recorded in the output of mining and quarrying.
