Appointment at Statistics Finland: Jussi Heino appointed Director of the Data Collection Department
Jussi Heino, Master of Science in Technology, has been appointed Director of the Data Collection Department for the five-year term starting on 1 October 2015.
Jussi Heino has been employed at Statistics Finland since 1999 as Head of Statistics and Head of Development, for instance. His latest position was the supervisor of Statistics Finland’s researcher services.
The Data Collection Department is in charge of Statistics Finland’s data collection and processing, and develops data acquisition methods and tools in collaboration with the ICT Management Department. The Department also includes Statistics Finland’s interviewer organisation of around 200 employees.
Statistics Finland produces the vast majority of the Official Statistics of Finland and is an important international actor in the field of statistics. Its task is to combine collected data into statistics and information services for the needs of decision-making and citizens. Statistics Finland employs around 900 experts in various fields in Helsinki and as interviewers all over Finland. In 2015, it has been 150 years since Statistics Finland was established.
