Riitta Pipatti elected to the steering group of the IPCC Inventories programme
Riitta Pipatti, Statistics Finland's Senior Adviser, has been elected a member of the Task Force Bureau on the Greenhouse Gas Inventories programme of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change IPCC.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change IPCC operates under the UN and assesses scientific literature related to climate change and produces at regular intervals assessment reports to support political decision-making on the progress and impacts of climate change and on options for mitigation and adaptation. The IPCC's Greenhouse Gas Inventories programme produces methodological reports for assessing greenhouse gases, which reports are used in the compilation of greenhouse gas inventories for the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol.
Riitta Pipatti has taken part in the production of IPCC assessment and methodological reports. Pipatti works at Statistics Finland's Greenhouse Gas Inventory unit and is responsible for the compilation and reporting of Finland's greenhouse gas inventory according to the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol.
