Statistical report on Finland's sustainable development indicators
Statistics Finland has published an extensive statistical report on the indicators of sustainable development in Finland. The report Sustainable Development Goals Indicators for Finland contains key data in the form of statistics and graphics on the development of indicators for sustainable development in Finland.
The statistical report describes diversely and extensively the attainment of the goals related to health and well-being, education, gender equality, the environment, the economy and climate change.
The UN's global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development contains 17 goals, which are divided into 169 sub-goals. The realisation of the goals is monitored with 244 indicators of sustainable development, for which the national statistical authorities are responsible for producing the data. Statistics Finland is responsible for producing these monitoring data on sustainable development in Finland. At the moment, data on national or international sources are available for around 66 per cent of global indicators in Finland.
"A total of 20 different organisations have produced data for the statistical report on sustainable development in Finland that is now published for the first time by Statistics Finland. We would like to thank all these parties for good cooperation,“ says Statistics Finland's Director General Marjo Bruun.
The statistical report published by Statistics Finland is part of a wider report published by the Government entitled “Voluntary National Review of Finland on the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, which assesses the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Finland. The data of the statistical report are also available from Statistics Finland's national UN indicators database.
