According to Statistics Finland, general government's net financial assets, i.e. the difference between assets and liabilities, amounted to EUR 159.9 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2022. General government's net financial assets decreased by EUR 2.7 billion from the previous quarter.
The statistics on general government financial accounts will be discontinued and the last separate release of the statistics will be on 21 December 2022. In future, data concerning general government financial accounts will be published as part of the quarterly published statistics on financial accounts.

The central government sector’s net financial assets increased by EUR 1.7 billion from the previous quarter and were EUR 69.2 billion negative at the end of the quarter.
The local government sector’s net financial assets decreased by EUR 1.4 billion, being EUR 3.8 billion negative at the end of the quarter.
Employment pension schemes’ net financial assets were EUR 231.6 billion positive at the end of the quarter. Employment pension schemes’ net financial assets decreased by EUR 2.6 billion in total compared to the previous quarter.
The statistics on general government financial accounts will be discontinued and in future data on general government financial accounts will be published as part of the statistics on financial accounts.
