New orders in manufacturing grew by 13 per cent year-on-year in September 2022
According to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 13.0 per cent higher in September 2022 than twelve months earlier. During January to September, orders grew by 9.1 per cent from the year before.

New orders grew in September most in the chemical industry, where the value of orders was 41.7 per cent higher than in the year before. The value of new orders in the metal industry was 9.4 per cent higher and in the industry of the manufacture of paper and paper board products 6.8 per cent higher than one year previously.
When interpreting these statistics, it should be borne in mind that they typically show strong fluctuations by month. Even new orders of substantial value are not examined over extended time periods but for the statistical reference month only.
