Rail freight traffic decreased by 11 % in the first quarter of 2022

According to Statistics Finland, freight transferred by rail in the first quarter of 2022 was 8.4 million tons, which was 11 % less than in the first quarter of 2021. A total of 15.2 million trips was travelled by rail, which was 43 % more than in the same quarter of 2021.
