Households’ financial assets continued growing in 2021

According to Statistics Finland, households' financial assets amounted to EUR 387.7 billion. Financial assets increased by EUR 33.7 billion during the year. Households’ liabilities also grew, in total by EUR eight billion, so households’ level of liabilities rose to EUR 201.1 billion.

Households’ financial assets continued growing in 2021

Households’ financial assets grew by EUR 33.7 billion during 2021 and rose to EUR 387.7 billion. EUR 22.9 billion were generated in holding gains, while households’ net additional investments in financial assets amounted to EUR 11.6 billion. Households' liabilities grew by EUR eight billion. The difference between financial assets and liabilities was EUR 186.5 billion. Net financial assets grew by EUR 25.7 billion during the year.
