Number of bankruptcy proceedings concluded was 2,742 in 2022

According to Statistics Finland's data, a total of 2,742 bankruptcy proceedings were concluded by courts in 2022. A total of 506 of these ended with certification of the disbursement list. In other cases, bankruptcy proceedings were discontinued at different stages of the bankruptcy proceedings.

  • In 2022, the commonest reason for discontinuing bankruptcy proceedings was the insufficient means of the bankruptcy estate, which was the reason in 1,382 cases.
  • In 2022, the second commonest reason for discontinuing bankruptcy proceedings was withdrawal of the application, which was the reason in 432 cases.
