Real estate maintenance costs rose in April to June 2023

According to Statistics Finland, real estate maintenance costs rose by 8.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the corresponding period of 2022. Of the cost items of real estate maintenance, electricity costs grew most, by 20.5 per cent. Water supply and sewage costs grew by 4.6 per cent, repairs by 4.6 per cent, heating by 7.5 per cent, waste management by 11.6 per cent, administration by 5.1 per cent, use and maintenance by 7.4 per cent, and maintenance of outdoor areas by 8.4 per cent. Cleaning costs went up by 8.7 per cent and insurance against loss or damage by 2.9 per cent.
