Turnover in trade grew by 3,8 per cent in February 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the working day adjusted turnover in total trade grew by 3.8 per cent in February 2023 compared with February 2022. The volume of total trade sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, decreased by 3.9 per cent over the same period.

Working day adjusted turnover of retail trade grew in February by 5.8 per cent

The working day adjusted turnover of retail trade grew by 5.8 per cent in February from February 2022. The volume of retail trade sales fell by 3.3 per cent over the same period. In daily consumer goods trade, the working day adjusted turnover increased by 6.5 per cent in February. The sales volume, however, fell by 5.3 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year.

Seasonally adjusted turnover fell compared to previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade fell by 0.9 per cent in February compared to January. Seasonally adjusted sales volume decreased by 1.9 per cent over the same period. In January, seasonally adjusted turnover grew by 1.7 per cent and sales volume by 1.9 per cent compared to the month before.
