Turnover decreased in several main industries in August

Turnover declined in August most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 36.8 per cent from one year ago. Turnover in the forest industry was 19.3 per cent lower and in the metal industry 9.5 per cent lower than one year earlier. Turnover grew only in the food industry, by 1.6 per cent, and in the textile industry, by 0.5 per cent from one year ago.

Export turnover decreased in August in nearly all main industries

Export turnover declined in nearly all main industries in August. Export turnover decreased most in the electronic and electrical industry, by 25.0 per cent, and in the forest industry, by 24.9 per cent from one year earlier. Export turnover in the metal industry decreased by 12.6 per cent. Export turnover grew only in the textile industry and was 3.2 per cent higher than in the previous year.

Domestic turnover decreased in several main industries in August. Domestic turnover decreased most in the chemical industry, by 15.5 per cent from one year back. In the forest industry, domestic turnover decreased by 6.6 per cent and in the metal industry by 2.1 per cent. Domestic turnover grew in the electrical and electronics industry by 18.7 per cent, and in the food industry by 1.9 per cent from one year back.

Turnover decreased in August from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 0.8 per cent in August 2023 compared to July. In July, turnover went down by 0.3 per cent, while in June it was 2.5 per cent lower than in the previous month.
