Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 39 per cent in September 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,4 million tonnes in September 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 39 per cent compared to September 2022. In September 2023 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in September

Oil products were transported most, in total 187,211 tonnes, which was 53 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was coal and coke, 50,916 tonnes, which was 14 per cent of all transport.
