Costs of civil engineering rose in October 2023 by 3.5 per cent from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, the costs of civil engineering rose by 3.5 per cent from October 2022 to October 2023. The annual change in costs varied by sub-index from 9.1 per cent for surfacing to –1.6 per cent for concrete structures.

  • Examined by cost factor, the biggest cost increases occurred in the costs of own machinery (10.8%) and purchased machine services (2.8%).
  • Examined by cost factor in materials, costs decreased most per year in plastic products (-11.4%).
