Costs of civil engineering rose in July 2023 by 0.4 per cent from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, the costs of civil engineering rose by 0.4 per cent from July 2022 to July 2023. The annual change in costs varied by sub-index from 4.5 per cent for technical and other systems to -6.6 per cent for surfacing.

  • Examined by cost factor, the biggest cost increases occurred in the costs of own machinery (9.7%) and labour (5.1%).
  • Examined by cost factor, costs decreased most per year in materials (-5.3%)
  • The total index went up by 0.8 per cent from the month before.
