Road traffic accidents claimed 11 lives in June 2024
release | Statistics on road traffic accidents 2024, JuneAccording to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 288 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in June 2024. In them, 11 persons were killed and 357 persons injured. The number of fatalities was five lower and number of persons injured 12 lower than in June 2023. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to June
A total of 1,187 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to June period of 2024 according to preliminary data. In them, 72 persons were killed and 1,461 persons injured. The number of deaths was three higher and number of persons injured 94 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023. Of the persons who were killed, 38 travelled by passenger car, four by van, two by moped, six by motorcycle and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered nine and cyclists five. In addition, seven other road users were killed.
