Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 4.5 per cent in October to December 2023 from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 4.5 per cent in the last quarter of 2023 from the previous year but rose by 0.5 per cent from the previous quarter. In October to December 2023, around 17 per cent more transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made than in the corresponding period one year earlier.

  • Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell from the previous year especially in large towns and Southern Finland, by 7.5 per cent. Prices remained unchanged in municipalities with 60,000 to 100,000 inhabitants.
  • Prices of one-dwelling house plots fell by five per cent in the whole country compared to one year earlier.
  • The number of transactions in old one-dwelling houses grew most in municipalities with 60,000 to 100,000 inhabitants, 20 per cent more than one year earlier.
  • Eleven per cent fewer transactions of one-dwelling house plots were made than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
  • Prices of new one-dwelling houses fell by 0.5 per cent from the previous year and by 0.8 per cent from the previous quarter.
