Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 29 per cent in December 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0.5 million tonnes in December 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 29 per cent compared to December 2022. In December 2023 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in December

Oil products were transported most, in total 175,880 tonnes, which was 39 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was coal and coke, 164,228 tonnes, which was 36 per cent of all transport.
