Record high number of people died from drugs in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, there were 310 drug-related deaths in 2023. This is 60 more than in the year before. Drug-related deaths increased most among young people under the age of 25. One in three of persons who died from drugs was aged under 25. Drugs were a significant cause of death for young people.
