The average year-on-year change in consumer prices, i.e. inflation calculated by Statistics Finland was 6.2 per cent in 2023.

  • The average point figure for the Consumer Price Index in 2023 was 120.4. On average, consumer prices have increased by 20.4 per cent compared to 2015.
  • The average year-on-year change was the biggest in division 12 Miscellaneous goods and services, 11.7 per cent and the smallest in division 07 Transport, -1.0 per cent.
  • The average year-on-year change in division 01 Food and non-alcoholic beverages was 9.0 per cent and in division 04 Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels it was 9.1 per cent.
  • The average year-on-year change in average interest rate on housing loans was 202.1 per cent.
