Producer prices for manufactured products fell by 5.1 per cent in February 2024 year-on-year

According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 5.1 per cent from February 2023 to February 2024. The producer prices of manufactured products sold on the domestic market fell by 3.8 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went down by 6.9 per cent.

Product groups affecting the changes in indices
The decrease in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by the decrease in prices of paper and paper products, basic metals and electricity compared to last year's February. The fall in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of waste, and machinery and equipment from a year ago.

From January to February, producer prices for manufactured products went down by 0.2 per cent. Producer prices fell especially due to fallen prices of electricity compared with the previous month. The fall in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of oil products compared with the previous month.
