Product innovations generated 16 per cent of enterprises' turnover in 2022

According to Statistics Finland, a total of 16 per cent of the combined turnover of enterprises in 2022 was generated from product innovations in 2020 to 2022. The share in manufacturing was 21 per cent. In service industries, the share of turnover generated from innovations was seven per cent of the combined turnover of enterprises.

Sixty-two per cent of the surveyed enterprises were involved in innovation activity.

Around every third enterprise with innovation activity was prevented from expanding its innovation activity due to lack of resources.
The most often reported environmental benefits from innovations were decreased use of energy and a reduced carbon footprint during both production and end use.
