Gross domestic product grew by 0.3 per cent in July to September 2024

According to Statistics Finland, the volume of Finland’s gross domestic product grew by 0.3 per cent in July to September 2024 from the level of the previous quarter. Adjusted for working days, GDP grew by 0.5 per cent from the quarter of one year ago. According to preliminary data compiled by Eurostat, GDP in the EU area grew by 0.3 per cent in July to September 2024 from the previous quarter.

In July to September 2024, the volume of exports increased by 1.6 per cent from the previous quarter. The volume of imports grew 0.3 per cent.
In July to September 2024, private consumption decreased by 0.8 per cent from the July to September level.
Government consumption expenditure diminished by 1.9 per cent in the third quarter of 2024 from the level in April to June.
Gross fixed capital formation, or investments, grew by 0.4 per cent in the third quarter of 2024 from the previous quarter.
Private investments remained on level with the previous quarter. Public sector investments grew by 2.2 per cent.
