Households’ saving rate on level with the previous quarter in April to June 2024

According to Statistics Finland, households’ seasonally adjusted saving rate was 3.0 per cent and the investment rate 9.3 per cent in April to June 2024. The revisions to household final consumption expenditure have a significant impact on household’s savings and saving rate, which are now significantly higher than previously.

  • Non-financial corporations’ seasonally adjusted investment rate declined by 2.0 percentage points from the previous quarter and the profit share increased in April to June 2024.
  • Seasonally adjusted value added of financial and insurance corporations decreased by 2.4 per cent and their operating surplus went down by 5.5 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
  • The general government deficit was EUR 2.0 billion, while in the corresponding quarter one year before it was EUR 0.3 billion.
  • Households' adjusted disposable income grew at current prices by 1.2 per cent and adjusted for price stayed the same compared to the quarter last year.
  • Exports of goods and services at current prices increased by 1.4 per cent and imports contracted by 2.0 per cent from the quarter one year ago.
