Turnover decreased in several main industries in December

Turnover decreased in December most in the electrical and electronics industry, by 32.2 per cent, and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 27.3 per cent from one year back. In the forest industry, turnover decreased by 15.3 per cent and in the metal industry by 14.8 per cent. Turnover grew only in the food industry, by 6.4 per cent, and in the textile industry, by 0.6 per cent from one year ago. In 2023, working day adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 9.4 per cent from the previous year.

Export turnover decreased in December in nearly all main industries

Export turnover declined in nearly all main industries in December. Export turnover in the electrical and electronics industry decreased most, by 38.8 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover in the metal industry was 20.6 per cent lower and in the forest industry 18.6 per cent lower than one year ago. Export turnover grew only in the textile industry, by 1.6 per cent from one year ago.

Domestic turnover decreased most in the chemical industry in December and was 20.5 per cent lower than one year earlier. In the forest industry, domestic turnover decreased by 9.0 per cent and in the metal industry, domestic turnover grew by 8.2 per cent from one year ago.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 1.1 per cent in December 2023 compared to November. In November, turnover went down by 1.2 per cent and it grew by 0.3 per cent in October from the previous month.
