Turnover in industry decreased by 0.2 per cent in July 2024
According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) decreased by 0.2 per cent in July 2024 from July 2023.

Turnover decreased in several main industries
Turnover decreased in several main industries in July. Turnover contracted most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-11.2%), in the textile industry (-7.3%) and in mining and quarrying (-5.3%). Turnover grew in the forest industry by 4.8 per cent and in the metal industry by 3.2 per cent from one year ago.
Export turnover increased in several main industries
Export turnover increased in July most in the food industry, by 9.1 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover also grew in the metal industry (5.1%), the forest industry (1.4%) and the textile industry (1.4%). Export turnover declined most in the chemical industry, by 4.3 per cent from one year earlier.
Domestic turnover decreased in July most in the textile industry, by 12.8 per cent from one year ago. In the metal industry, domestic turnover was 5.6 per cent lower than one year previously. Domestic turnover in the forest industry increased most, by 11.9 per cent year-on-year. Domestic turnover in the chemical industry grew by 1.5 per cent from one year ago.
Turnover grew in July from the month before
Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 1.1 per cent in July 2024 compared to June. In June, turnover decreased slightly, by 0.1 per cent from the previous month. In May, seasonally adjusted turnover remained on level with the previous month.
