Exports and imports of services increased in the third quarter of 2024

According to Statistics Finland, the value of service exports increased by 16 % in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the corresponding quarter of the year before. The value of service imports increased by 4 % over the same period. The value of service exports was EUR 9.4 billion and service imports EUR 10.3 billion in the third quarter of 2024.

  • Imports of goods and services increased by EUR 0.3 billion (1 %) from previous year.
  • The value of goods exports remained at the same level and the value of goods imports decreased by EUR 0.1 billion from previous year. The balance of trade in goods was EUR 1.9 billion in surplus.
  • The services account strengthened by EUR 0.9 billion from previous year and was EUR 0.8 billion in deficit.
  • Exports of services increased significantly due to increase in exports of telecommunications, computer and information services, other business services and charges for the use of intellectual property.
