Turnover of construction decreased by 12.3 per cent in January 2024 from one year ago ago
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 12.3 per cent in January 2024 compared to the previous year. The volume of sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, went down by 10.7 per cent. The decline in construction was most affected by the weak development of turnover and sales volume in building construction.

In January 2024, working day adjusted turnover in construction of buildings fell by 18.4 per cent and sales volume by 17.7 per cent compared to one year ago. In turn, working day adjusted turnover in civil engineering decreased by 0.4 per cent and sales volume by 3.7 per cent from the previous year. Turnover in specialised construction activities went down by 8.7 per cent and sales volume by 7.9 per cent from one year ago.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction decreased by 1.2 per cent in January 2024 compared to December 2023. Seasonally adjusted sales volume decreased by 0.8 per cent in January 2024 from December 2023.
