Turnover of construction decreased by 11.4 per cent in February 2024 from one year ago ago
According to Statistics Finland, the working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 11.4 per cent in February 2024 compared to the previous year. The volume of sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, went down by 6.9 per cent. The decline in construction was most affected by the weak development of turnover and sales volume in building construction.

In February 2024, working day adjusted turnover in construction of buildings fell by 14.6 per cent and sales volume by 13.2 per cent compared to one year ago. In turn, working day adjusted turnover in civil engineering increased by 7.8 per cent and sales volume by 5.9 per cent from the previous year. The values of civil engineering are generally lower at the beginning of the year, so the growth must be interpreted against this background. Turnover in specialised construction activities went down by 4.7 per cent and sales volume by 3.1 per cent from one year ago.
Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction decreased compared to January
Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction decreased by 0.2 per cent in February compared to January. Seasonally adjusted sales volume increased by 1.1 per cent in February from January.
