Turnover of construction decreased by 2.1 per cent in September 2024 from one year ago
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 2.1 per cent in September 2024 compared to the previous year. The volume of sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, rose by 0.8 per cent. The decline in construction was most affected by the weak development of turnover in building construction.

Turnover in construction industries developed in two directions
In September 2024, working day adjusted turnover in construction of buildings fell by 5.4 per cent and sales volume by 2.1 per cent compared to one year ago. In turn, working day adjusted turnover in civil engineering increased by 7.9 per cent and sales volume by 9.6 per cent from the previous year. Turnover in specialised construction activities decreased by 3.2 per cent and sales volume increased by 0.1 per cent from one year ago.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction decreased by 1.6 per cent in September 2024 compared to August. Seasonally adjusted sales volume decreased by 1.9 per cent from August.
