Extraction of domestic natural resources decreased in 2023
Correction
According to Statistics Finland, extraction of domestic natural resources fell by 9 per cent in 2023 from the year before. A total of nearly 220 million tonnes of natural resources, or domestic extraction, were utilised in 2023. Exports and imports of raw materials and processed products also decreased. Domestic material consumption, which takes into account domestic extraction, imports and exports, amounted to 223 million tonnes in 2023.
