According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, Finland's population was 5,637,214 at the end of December 2024. In the course of 2024, Finland’s population grew by 33,363 persons. The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad since immigration exceeded emigration by 48,546. The number of births was 14,300 lower than that of deaths.
