Number of domestic leisure trips grew by one quarter in November 2024

According to Statistics Finland, around 1.5 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in November 2024, which is one quarter more than a year earlier. The number of leisure trips abroad remained on the same level and was around 0.5 million in November 2024.

  • The number of domestic leisure trips increased by one tenth in paid accommodation and by one third in free accommodation in November 2024.
  • Domestic overnight stays with paid accommodation numbered 0.9 million and those with free accommodation 2.8 million.
  • In addition to leisure trips abroad, the number of overnight stays related to trips also remained on level with the previous year and was around 3.1 million.
  • Around 0.3 million domestic business trips with overnight stay were made, which is one fifth fewer than in November 2023.
