Leisure trips in Finland decreased in September 2025

According to Statistics Finland, around 1.6 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in September 2025, which is one fifth fewer than one year earlier. The number of leisure trips abroad fell slightly from the previous year and was around 0.6 million in September 2025.

  • The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation remained on level with the year before and was around 0.5 million.
  • The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country grew slightly from the year before. A total of 0.5 million of these trips were made in September 2025.
  • Altogether 4.9 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 3.1 million abroad.
