Road traffic accidents claimed 10 lives in June 2025

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 241 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in June 2025. In them, 10 persons were killed and 304 persons injured. The number of fatalities was one lower and number of persons injured 53 lower than in June 2024. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to June

According to preliminary data, there were a total of 1,060 road traffic accidents involving personal injury in the January to June period of 2025. In them, 76 persons were killed and 1,294 persons injured. The number of deaths was four higher and the number of persons injured 167 lower than in the corresponding period of 2024. Of the persons who were killed, 46 travelled by passenger car, three by van, nine by motorcycle and one by lorry. Seven pedestrians, one rider of light electric vehicle and six cyclists on a traditional bicycle were killed. In addition, three other road users were killed.
