According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) increased by 3.3 per cent in April 2025 from April 2024.

Turnover grew most in the chemical industry

Turnover grew in nearly all main industries in April. Turnover increased most in the chemical industry, by 13.5 per cent from one year ago. In the electronic and electrical industry, turnover grew by 7.0 per cent and in the food industry by 4.5 per cent. Turnover in the forest industry was 4.4 per cent higher and in the metal industry 3.8 per cent higher than one year earlier. Turnover decreased only in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 7.6 per cent from one year back.

Export turnover grew in nearly all main industries

Export turnover grew in nearly all main industries in April from one year back. Export turnover grew most in the chemical industry, by 24.1 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover in the forest industry was 7.3 per cent higher and in the metal industry 3.3 per cent higher than one year earlier. Export turnover decreased only in the food industry, by 2.1 per cent from twelve months earlier.

Domestic turnover grew in several main industries in April. Domestic turnover increased most in the food industry, by 8.4 per cent year-on-year. Domestic turnover in the textile industry was 5.1 per cent higher and in the metal industry 1.2 per cent higher than one year earlier. Domestic turnover decreased in the chemical industry (-3.8%) and in the forest industry (-0.7%) from one year ago.

Turnover decreased in April from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 2.6 per cent in April 2025 compared to March. In March, turnover grew by 4.9 per cent and in February by 1.8 per cent from the month before.
