Turnover in industry decreased by 1.0 per cent in August 2025
According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) decreased by one per cent in August 2025 from August 2024.

Turnover decreased in several main industries
Working day adjusted turnover decreased most in August in the forest industry, by 11.0 per cent from one year back. Turnover also decreased in the metal industry (-3.9%), in the electronic and electrical industry (-2.3%) and in the chemical industry (-0.2%). Turnover increased most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (21.0%) and in mining and quarrying (19.9%).
Export turnover decreased in several main industries
Export turnover declined most in August in the electronic and electrical industry, by 7.2 per cent from twelve months earlier. Export turnover in the metal industry was 6.9 per cent lower and export turnover in the forest industry 5.6 per cent lower than one year earlier. Export turnover grew most in the industry of mining and quarrying, by 79.1 per cent from the previous year. Export turnover in the chemical industry was 3.4 per cent higher and in the food industry 3.0 per cent higher than one year earlier.
Domestic turnover in the electronic and electrical industry increased most among the main industries, by 21.2 per cent from one year before. Domestic turnover also went up in the metal industry (4.1%) as well as in the food industry and the textile, clothing and leather industry (1.3% in both). Domestic turnover decreased most in mining and quarrying, by 21.6 per cent from the previous year. Domestic turnover in the forest industry was 19.2 per cent lower and domestic turnover in the chemical industry 6.6 per cent lower than one year earlier.
Turnover increased in August from the month before
Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 2.9 per cent in August 2025 compared to July. Turnover decreased by 3.8 per cent in July and grew by 1.0 per cent in June compared to the month before.
