According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) increased by 4.0 per cent in October 2025 from October 2024.

Turnover grew most in the electronic and electrical industry

Turnover adjusted for working days grew in October most in the electronic and electrical industry, by 27.6 per cent from the year before. Turnover in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was 16.0 per cent higher than in the year before. Turnover also grew in the metal industry (9.2%), the food industry (6.5%) and mining and quarrying (4.6%). In October, turnover decreased in the chemical industry (-7.4%), the textile, clothing and leather industry (-4.9%) and the forest industry (-4.3%).

Export turnover grew most in mining and quarrying

In October, growth in export turnover was strongest in mining and quarrying, up by 46.6 per cent from the previous year. Export turnover in the electronic and electrical industry was 32.2 per cent higher than one year previously. Export turnover grew by 13.7 per cent in the food industry and by 11.4 per cent in the metal industry. Export turnover decreased in October in the forest industry by 13.4 per cent, in the textile, clothing and leather industry by 8.3 per cent and in the chemical industry by 8.2 per cent from one year ago.

Domestic turnover decreased in October most in mining and quarrying, by 19.7 per cent from one year ago. Domestic turnover also decreased in the chemical industry (-5.7%) and in the textile, clothing and leather industry (-2.1%). Domestic turnover grew most in October in the forest industry, by 18.0 per cent from one year back. Domestic turnover in the food industry was 6.5 per cent higher, in the metal industry 3.5 per cent higher and in the electronic and electrical industry 2.2 per cent higher than one year earlier.

Turnover grew in October from the month before

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 1.3 per cent in October 2025 compared to September. In September, turnover grew by 1.7 per cent and in August by 2.3 per cent from the month before.
