According to Statistics Finland, 381 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in January 2025, which is 83 more than in the corresponding period one year earlier. On the monthly level the number of bankruptcies has last been this high in October 1997. The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,611, which is 495 staff-years more than in January 2024.
